Olive View is a dream come true for active guests, who will have some of the most beautiful hiking, running and mountain biking trails right on their doorstep (not to mention their own personal hot tub at the pod to help with recovery afterwards!).

if it’s adventure you’re after but without breaking too much a sweat, you can also explore Wellington on guided e-bike tours. or if you’re into more of an adrenaline rush, there’s always the option of a skydive… but whatever you choose to do, we can guarantee you won’t be bored for a second.

Example Adventure Itinerary

DAY 1:

- check in from 3pm for a fun-filled active weekend.

- order a branded untether cap ahead of your stay to keep you protected for the weekend, and it will be waiting in your pod upon arrival.

- go for a short (2 hour) farm walk with an experienced tour guide to hear some stories about the area, and get intel on the fauna, flora and local animals with whom you’ll be sharing this beautiful piece of land. book here.

- finally, pick out a dinner to try from the meal kits available on our online store, or use the ingredients you’ve brought along to create your own culinary masterpiece.

DAY 2:  

- set off on the right foot with a morning run/hike in the Limietberg Nature Reserve. you can choose from the following trails:

Bobbejaans River Waterfall trail (rock pools) - starts at Bainskloof Corner Lodge near De Nek
Happy Valley Trail  - starts in Bainskloof at Eerste Tol
Krom River Trail or Eland River Trail -  both start in Du Toitskloof, immediately to the left after the Worcester exit of the Huguenot Tunnel.
Rockhopper Trail
- starts at Eerste Tol in the Bainskloof Pass
Bainskloof Pass (27 km from the farm)

access to these trails will require a Cape Nature permit which can be purchased @ R50 per adult from the office or online.

- afterwards you can cool off with a dip in some gorgeous amber rock pools.

- on your way back to the farm, stop for a hearty breakfast as a reward at one of the many restaurants and cafes along the road home: Cafe La Vita on the R301 (9.1km). Breakfast options in town:  Fifty Five Croissants, 36 Bain Street (6.6km), Aubain The Perfect Place (6.5km), Cole The Eatery (7.6km)

- if you’re still ready for more action, after breakfast you could meet with a tour guide at the Old Tannery to take a guided e-bike tour through Wellington, including lunch. (8.7km)

- grab a snack at Cole the Eatery (7.6km) on the way to or from the Old Tannery. 

- to unwind after your busy day, enjoy an afternoon at leisure on the farm… or maybe even treat yourself to a deep tissue sports massage from our online store (to be booked in advance - the latest available massage booking is at 5pm)

- get the fire going for a well deserved braai (pre-order packs available from our online store) or visit Zomerlust House Restaurant (just a 5.3km drive away) for a lovely, relaxing dinner to bring your busy day to an end. booking at Zomerlust is essential and subject to availability as seating is limited and opening hours vary. bring your own wine/drinks and email info@untether.co.za to for menu enquiries or further details.

DAY 3:

- it’s time to take the leap! why not end your trip with the ultimate thrill of a tandem skydive at the nearby airfield? Sky2Ocean skydive at Diemerskraal Airfield only 26 km from the farm (1 - 2 hours). Check in at 6h30 / 8h30 / 10h30 

- enjoy breakfast on the way back to the farm at one of the local coffee shops: Fifty Five Croissants / Cole Eatery / Aubain Perfect Place

- head back to the farm to recover and relax. and as soon as you’re itching to get outdoors again, step outside and head out for an afternoon hike, run or mountain bike on the trails accessible from the farm (Hawequa 14km OR the Scout trail 21km)

- wash the day away in your outdoor shower while breathing in that heavenly fynbos scent, and admiring the late afternoon light hitting the surrounding mountains.

- finally, enjoy dinner on the patio by throwing some dough and making your own pizza (pre-order pizza kits available from our online store)

DAY 4:

- rise and shine early on your last morning for a 4km run on the farm, making sure to use a phone or fitness watch to track your time so you can enter our yearly competition to win a stay at the farm - when you can do it all again! 

- finish off with a farm breakfast on the patio to take in the views one last time, before checking out at 10am.
